Yoga and Sound

Ramanand Patel is the master weaver; combining his depth of knowledge of yoga and the mechanics of the body, with philosophy in an engaging, humorous style. He has studied with Sri B.K.S. Iyengar since 1968, and has also been a student of Vedanta philosophy taught by H.H. Swami Dayananda Saraswati, since 1993. Ramanand has a civil engineering background and is one of yoga’s principal instructors, well respected as the teacher of teachers.

Mukesh Desai is a master vocalist and a gifted teacher of North Indian classical music and foremost disciple of world-renowned Pandit Jasraj. His ability to help the student encounter the inner instrument is unsurpassed.

The daily classes will offer the student an opportunity to go deeper in the practice of yoga and experience sound at a universal level. Mukesh will teach subtle aspects of the power of sound as well as provide a backdrop of sound to Ramanand’s careful instruction in asana, pranayama and philosophy classes. This confluence of yoga and sound will encourage receptivity of breath while increasing the sensitivity of awareness. The inward journey is much facilitated with these tools and the guidance of these respected teachers.
