Application of yoga in daily life Can't Post

I was wondering how many people that practise the yoga asanas have read the spiritual texts concerning yoga ie. Bhagavad-Gita, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Hatha yoga pradipika etc; and furthermore make effort to incorporate the teachings of texts into daily life.
In reference to the Gita which teaches the renunciation of the fruits of actions to god (Karma Yoga) to achieve enlightenment; I find this daunting to practise, yet it makes sense to me. For some reason dedicating my actions to god is somewhat offensive to my ego. I wonder how many people when practising asana take this approach. I'm trying to foster this approach to my practise though feel myself distracted by the physical world and the contents of my mind; the ego is very hard to let go of and release. I suppose these are things that one takes many lifetimes trying to perfect.

I find that harmonising my intellectual thought, speech or physical action is a hard one to learn for me to but I guess everything is as it is.
In this lifetime and the present moment, the yoga itself is teaching me so much and I am forever thankful.
The recent teachings from the local yoga class have been working in the asanas meditatively and this has instilled a sence of quietness and focus in my life whereby the discipline's will hopefully become more effortless, and my mind as quiet as my breath.
Being taught by great teachers is an honour and luxury, like getting the taxi home with all the shopping and
home practise is like walking home with all the shopping and attemting to journey with equal energy to that of the taxi journey.
Pleasant Yoga.

Applying yoga philosophy in every day life? Oh heck yeah! That's what it's all about.

It takes practice and time, I think, to become attuned to the ego's weird ways.

But the ego, she is our friend. She is a really good, weird, exciting, confusing friend.

She just can't travel the whole distance.

I see it as practising the asana - being concentrated, alert every second of the everyday life and being relaxed at once with opened mind and heart, watching , feeling what s going on inside us also around us as in mirror of us. To be able differentiate what is importatnt for our path-dharma what is not important, to stay on our path, follow it every day. To diferentiate informations inside and around us, what God wants to tell us every second. It s beautiful, we do not need to travel physically, we are always on some ways around the world and universe. To be in constant process of conversation with our best friend-God. Staying in the middle.

I have read parts of all of those texts. I have them in my collection and refer to them as needed. I think that to make more meaning out tof the asana practice it is important to know the basis of it. Why exactly are we doing this? Living Yoga is an all consuming task, but a very important one. I am in constant struggle with the yamas and niyamas, but it is a great way to continually go on improving oneself.
