Im building a rope wall at my house and i found several different measurements for the distance between the bolts for rope attachments and length of ropes. Any recommendations for what is the best measurements please?

Is it just one set of ropes ( 2 long ropes up, and 2 short ropes down)?

We recommend hip width, i.e something in between 40 and 50 cm, upper ropes at 212 cm from the floor, and lower ropes at 100cm from the floor.

If you need to mount more sets, you may consider bigger ringbolts that can hold two ropes, which means you may accomodate an extra parctiotioner in a given space, also saving material.

Something like: (X)--45cm---(XX)--45cm---(XX)--45cm---(XX)--45cm---(X) (each X stand for one rope), so in this line-up using bigger ringbolts you accomodate 4 parctitioners.

If you leave something like 25 cm at each side the total space needed is 230 cm.

Hope this helps, more questions, just ask.

Hello,
I have the wall up and its looking great! Thanks for the info you sent me!
I have one more question if you don't mind. How long should the ropes be?
And what kind of knot that is?
Thank you again!

Sorry, I was away on holiday, and in and out of the hospital, so i just saw your question.

We well (spliced) hemp ropes at 160 (short ropes) and 220 (long ropes) cm length with a skai leather grip.

If you prefer polyester knotted ropes, the name of the knot varies from "grapevine" to "double fisherman"

There's obviously documentation available: How to ..., but I have always asked a knotting expert to deliver this to avoid to ahve unequal lengh.
