Yoga... A life changing experience Can't Post

My first introduction to Yoga was about a year ago when I went to one class as a favor to a friend…it ended up that she was indeed doing me a favor! It has changed my life. I was so amazed by the way it made me feel and I could not stop thinking about it. I began to purchase books on the subject and reading as much as I could while practicing the little I knew at home…I experimented with different classes in different styles and I came across the book Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and I started looking up BKS Iyengar on the internet and found the Victoria Yoga Center in BC that taught Iyengar yoga and that is where I have begun taking classes. It is fantastic! I know now that I was meant to follow the yogic path and hope to one day become a teacher. I know I have many years ahead of me before that is a reality but I am looking forward to the journey and have finally been able to adapt a daily practice to challenge myself. Any reading material that anyone could suggest would be greatly appreciated!!

For readings on the historical and spiritual background of yoga, look for the works of Georg Feuerstein, a wonderful scholar and practitioner.

You may already know, and you would very soon hear any way because of your study with an Iyengar teacher, but I will go ahead and say this: The seminal work on the Iyengar approach to yoga is called Light on Yoga, first published several decades ago, and still very current and very often consulted by his followers.

Thank you, I will definitely check out the works of Georg Feuerstein! And I currently have Light on Yoga checked out from our library and I find it very useful indeed!
