Hyper-mobile vertebrae Can't Post

I was recently informed by a physical therapist that two of my vertebrae are hypermobile (I believe that's the correct terminology). Symptoms include mild low back pain and light numbness across the top/back of the pelvis. After an examination/manipulation, the therapist theorized that one vertebrae immediately below the shoulder blades and L5 seem to both be compensating for lack of overall flexibility in the spine. (Vertebra spacing on x-rays looks good) I'm reluctant to agree only because I have had a regular practice for a long time that incorporates twist along with a full range of conventional Hatha yoga asana. While not painful for me it is uncomfortable and apparently a potential long term issue for nerve damage. I have modified my practice to accommodate the condition, but I have not eliminated twists or dramatically changed my practice. I have no problems elongating the spine and my alignment is generally good. Has anyone had similar experiences? I would be interested in hearing from yoga practitioners with first hand experience with this condition. This has me perplexed.

Namaste'
