Yoga and Hyperventilation

Hi everyone I am a beginner of yoga and I suffer from hyperventilation which is sometimes apparent in some of the asanas I practice. The asana which brings it out the most is savasana. I find it extremely hard to let myself go and the times that I do manage to let myself go, I find myself having to open my eyes and gasp for air. My chest and sternum also feels tight at times although my blood pressure is fine and I am not overweight. Please note that in the class I attend, we usually do savasana after doing sarvangasana (shoulder stand). I'd be really grateful if anyone could offer me any insight or clues as to why this might be happening and what asanas or breathing practices could be useful to overcome this problem. Thank you very much Regards and best wishes, Sarah
