The jaw does tend to clench during the day as a result of poor posture. Anything you can do to strengthen you back (headstand, backbends, and, especially, full arm balance) will help. However, I have found that it is also very helpful to go to your dentist and get a specially fitted mouth guard you can wear at night. This slightly adjusts the angle of your lower jaw when it is closed and the slight difference makes a huge difference to your muscles, preventing them from clenching as hard. This will help speed up your recovery, by prventing damage to your neck and back muscles from clenching when you are sleeping. Hopefully, with enough yoga, you will eventually not need to wear the mouth gard. Do a Google search for "Bruxism"
