pregnancy Can't Post

In the yoga book of silva, mira and shyam mehta says that its better not to practice any yoga o make any efforts on the 11th to 13th week of pregnancy. The baby is developing the bones at this time.Is this the reason for the break in the practice? and if so why?. I would appreciate if any one can send me an answer.

Hi! I am now 16 weeks pregnant and I didn't know you were supposed to take a break during in the 11 or 13th week. I follow the sequence in Geeta Iyengar's Yoga for Women. I also read Frederick LeBoyer's book Inner Beauty Inner Light, he did not mention any break, and he is a gynaecologist, so I was quite surprised you mentioned it.

During my first trimester, I even felt energetic enough to practice adhomukha vrksasana, pincha mayurasana and urdhva dhanurasana. I only stopped now because I am starting to feel heavier. I think books generally offer a guideline and it depends on how you feel. When I practice my postures I always feel happy and I imagine my baby wriggling happily inside and trying to imitate my postures and enjoying itself as mummy stretches away. I just went for my ultrasound scan and the baby was waving and kicking happily away! Best wishes and enjoy!
