Posture help Can't Post

I have had a curving of the upper back area. and it is really disturbing me. I have learned releasing techniques through Alexander and i just had a rolfing session. I feel desperate to correct it. I am only 25 and i heard Iyengar yoga is a good method. I would also need a video tape or teacher in my area (NJ) to get me started.
Any thoughts?

I recommend finding a teacher who is certified to teach Iyengar yoga.

This very website, iyengar-yoga.com, has links that will help you find a teacher. Go to the home page. Find the "Yoga Centers" link and click on it. Under the Yoga Centers page, find "Links" and then "US Certified Teachers" and click on that. From there you can select NJ or other nearby states, and you'll get names and numbers and sometimes web links for certified teachers.

Another route to the same list is to plug in to your web browser this address:
http://comnet.org/iynaus/cert4.html#NJ

The http://www.iyengar-yoga.com home page also has a link to a list of videotapes.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info.
Unfortunately the closest teacher is 45minutes away. The video tapes don't all say Iyengar yoga (the ones on the site. Does it matter? are they still ok?
also do you think that iyengar yoga will do the trick for me? Or will i have to live with this posture?
If so does it matter if it's Iyengar or a different type of yoga?

There may be a non-certified Iyengar teacher who is closer to you. If you call the ones on the certified list, they might know someone who is closer to you.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect that the videos listed on this website have been reviewed and determined to be consistent with the Iyengar style.

I have a great deal of faith that Iyengar yoga will help you. The Iyengar family of teachers has amassed a tremendous knowledge about yoga as therapy.

But to know what will happen in your life in the future would be to know what the future holds. I don't know the future. Does someone out there know the future?

thank you Brian,
I shall give i-yoga some serious dedication.
as far as the future goes the only thing i know of for sure is:

Ah, make the most of what we yet may spend,
Before we too into the Dust Descend;
Dust into Dust, and under Dust, to lie,
Sans Wine, sans Song, sans Singer and--sans End!
