Plantar Fascitis Can't Post

My Mother who is 63 years old has been having severe foot pain and has been diagonised as having Plantar Fascitis. Need to know if any yoga therapy would help. Pls suggest. She also has been suffering from Rhematoid arthitis for over 25 years now.

Re: Plantar Fascitis [In reply to] Can't Post

Radha,

I wouldn't work the foot directly. I'd have her do a lot of "yoga in a chair" with a solid foundation. i.e. have her work on even pressure between the right and left foot. Even pressure between the sole of the foot and the heal, and even pressure between the outside and inside of the foot. Start opening up her hips, back and shoulders. Bharadvajasana on a chair would be good. So would Ardha Uttanasana, palms into the wall. You may want to get Eric Small's video of yoga for people with MS and have her work from there.

All the best,
jerry
