Re-starting Practice Can't Post

Just looking for a bit of advice! I have been practising for around 4 years but am really still a beginner. I don't have a class near home or work at the moment and I'm looking to re-start my practice after a few months off - like someone else I had flu and since then have never really got going again.
Unsure

What asanas do you think I should do to recommence my practice.

Thanks

Lorraine

Re: Re-starting Practice [In reply to] Can't Post

Lorraine,

I think that it is important to do something every day. For myself I find, especially when I haven't practiced for a while, that if I try/want to have this long fulfilling fabulous practice, then I have a hard time getting myself to do it. So I say to myself, "Self, just do a dog." {grin} My thinking is a little yoga is better than no yoga. Whatever it is, 15 seconds, 5 minutes, or three hours. I find that when my mind/body/brain doesn't allow me to practice a 15 fifteen-second triangle or dog several times a day has an effect and often leads to more practice. So my advice is don't try to do the big deal; keep it simple; be thankful for every second of yoga that you give yourself;

Keep us informed,
jerry

I agree with Lorraine. Just do what you can and don't pressure yourself to try to do the ultimate practice. I have found the Healing Arts/Gaiam Video's with Rodney Yee, Patricia Walden et al, to be very helpful. They keep me focused and motivated during times when I don't have the energy to come up with a sequence on my own. Since you don't have a class near by they may be a good substitute.
