Khumbaka - retention of breath Can't Post

during inheletion, there is a phisical movement of the chest muscles - (let say that all the body is relaxed in savasana and i breath to my chest) - they contruct and strech, letting the rib cage grow.

now - while i hold my breath after inhelation, i can do one of two different things :
1. to hold all those muscles while i do this retention
2. to let go all this tension in the body, be totaly
relaxed, and hold the breath by closing the upper palat
and don't let the air out.

what is the right way to do it ?
