Thyroid and fish pose

Hello, Are there any folks in this forum who have experience with thyroid disease? I have recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease. This is very distressing to me as I have been practicing yoga all my adult life. I am trying to reach out to others to find help within this discipline. I do have a specific question about the difference between Iyengar's fish pose and fish pose as performed in other traditions, such as Sivananda. In other traditions, the fish rests on the crown of the head and is recommended as the necessary counterpoise after shoulderstand, purportedly to stimulate the thyroid and parathyroid and balance the previous posture. In Iyengar, the fish is on the back of the head, and fish is not generally practiced after shoulderstand in the sequences. I guess my question is whether anyone knows if there is reasoning behind this difference, from the Iyengar viewpoint, perhaps related to the health of the thyroid. Has anyone heard or know of any reasoning on the Iyengar style as to why fish pose is not traditionally performed after shoulderstand, or why the head is not extended backwards? I just want to know how to practice so that I can try and preserve my thyroid and parathyroid in the long term... More broadly, does anyone have any sequences they could share for hypothyroidism, or autoimmune disease, or point me to an Iyengar teacher who might have a sequence? Thank you for your patience with this long post, and cheers.
