Fish Pose Can't Post

I have a student in my class, who, after taking the class, informed me that her thyroid flared up and had to go to the hospital. She also told me that she has Graves Disease and takes medications daily. What I'd like to know is...has anyone heard of students performing the Matsyasana (Fish)and having this reaction (overstimulation of the throid)... or is it just coincidence that she had a flare up that day?

Re: Fish Pose [In reply to] Can't Post

I have not worked with anyone with Graves Disease, but know an Iyengar teacher that has. Her student went to Iyengar's institute in India and was given very specific asanas to work with. I will drop her a line about this website and perhaps she will have something more to share.
