Your body is trying to rebalance its chemistry, but, daily Yoga can alleviate alot of stress related it it. You might want to try some poses that are inverted...they have a profound effect on on the glands(lymph) and inner organs, neutralizing gravity's effects on the body. For rest and recovery, rest is essential, so try the corpse posture for a great relaxed calm-down.

(Forward Bend, Legs up against the wall, and half shoulderstands are a good way to start.)

Have you looked in Geeta Iyengar's book, Yoga, A Gem for Women? You should find help there. Being a menopausal woman, I will also suggest you watch your diet. Look in Dr. Christiane Northrup's new book on Menopause for additional help. Sorry, I can't remember the exact title, but it's quite new so you should easily find it.Try Amazon.com for it or Oprah.com as she was recently a guest on Oprah's show.

Yoga is of tremendous benefit to women going through these changes. You have probably found some books which offer suggestions of ways to work. The New Yoga for People Over 50 by Suza Francina has a great chapter on Menopause. Also, I highly recommend you read Dr. John Lee's book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause. This book offers tremendous insight into why women in our culture suffer from such symtoms and how for most of us our hormones are out of balance due to polutants and exposure to artificial hormones (birth contol pills and HRT). This is must read for any woman. Chritianne Northrup is also wonderful (Womans Bodies Woman's Wisdom; The Wisdom of Menopause)
